Think & Drink: Women on Submarines

Please join the Wisconsin Maritime Museum on December 5th at 6:30pm for our Think & Drink series presentation “Women on Submarines” with Naval History and Heritage Command’s Lori Whitmire. The featured drink of the night will be USS New Jersey Bourbon Lemonade.
In 2010, the ban on women serving on submarines was lifted. In 2022, two women made history becoming the first female Executive Officer and first female Chief of the Boat. In September of this year, the Navy commissioned its first coed submarine: USS New Jersey. But before these historic moments, there were women serving in anti-submarine warfare who were not allowed on the boats they were fighting. Join Lori Whitmire as she explores the history and future of a coed Submarine Service.
Alcohol and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the limited bar.
