Advance tickets are recommended for guided submarine tours due to tour capacity limitations.

Submarine USS COBIA Tours
The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is proud to be home to USS Cobia, a World War II submarine. USS Cobia is moored in the Manitowoc River next to the museum. Guests may tour the submarine anytime during regular museum open hours. Please visit our Accessibility page for more information on touring the submarine with mobility limitations.

Guided Tours are one way to experience the submarine. In the summer months, guided tours are available every day on a timed basis. Guided tours are approximately 45 minutes long. Tour capacity is limited and tours do sell out, so we strongly encourage purchasing your tickets ahead of time. You can purchase advance tickets online or by calling the Museum. A limited number of tickets are available on a walk-in basis.

Self-Guided Tours are another way to experience the submarine at your own pace. Self-guided tours are available anytime during regular Museum hours. An audio tour device can be borrowed for use during your submarine exploration at no charge. Guests may also download the mobile app on Android devices or access it online at any time here.

Current Exhibits

We have a variety of exhibits across our two full floors of galleries. Some exhibits are long-term, permanent displays, while others are displayed on a rotating basis.

Visit our Exhibits page for a listing of current gallery displays, as well as upcoming exhibits.

Museum & Submarine Guidelines
  • No food or drink is allowed in the exhibit gallery areas. There are vending machines and small tables located near the Front Desk Lobby for your convenience. Infant feeding is welcome anywhere.
  • No flash photography or videorecording is allowed. Camera and phone photography without the use of flash is welcome.
  • No backpacks or large bags are allowed. We recommend securing these in your vehicle or speaking with the Visitor Engagement staff upon your arrival to make other arrangements.
  • Animals (aside from Service Animals required for a disability) are not allowed in the building or submarine.
  • Smoking/vaping is not allowed anywhere inside the building or aboard the submarine. There is a smoking deck located on the upper level.
  • No firearms or weapons are allowed in the building or submarine.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
  • No running, yelling, or otherwise disrupting others’ Museum experience.
